Embrace growth: Growing old, growing wise or growing tired of your current position are all opportunities to see your personal change in action.  Who will you become?  How will you apply your experience, your knowledge and your skills to the next chapter? Change is exciting. Change is an opportunity for growth.  Look in the mirror because there is beauty in growth.  Complete a self- assessment and see how much you've grown.

When someone is watching:  My children inspire me to be my best self because they mimic everything.  What changes would you make, if you had someone watching you all day, everyday?   Are you proud of your daily decisions? Are you kind, truthful, caring and are you doing what you want to be doing?  If your current situation doesn't allow you to demonstrate happiness then it is time to take a step towards changing it.  Find a career coach and start your journey towards happiness in your professional career.

When no one is watching:  There are countless internet memes about how we do things one way in public and another in private.  Our jobs are usually public with supervisors, co-workers, reports, and teams.  But sometimes we solve problems differently in private.  We dream about being an entrepreneur, a CEO or some alternative role. Do your private dreams match your daily activities? If you want to get back on track to realizing your career ambition, try a visioning exercise to detail your short and long-term goals.

Resilience: Isabel Allende said "We all have an unsuspected reserve of strength inside that emerges when life puts us to the test."   You will encounter difficulty on your career journey   Whether a bad boss, a company restructure, a personal health crisis or some other life change.  It will be a turning point for you and you will be resilient. When life presents  your next project, remember that you already have the necessary tools to position you for success.  Learn how to use your experience, accomplishments, and transferable skills to reposition yourself.

Faith: "Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see" -Hebrews 11:1.  None of us can predict the future despite all of our efforts to plan for it.  Faith is necessary to combat the overwhelming feeling of despair when we realize we are not where we thought we would be.  There is conviction in the fact that everything happens for a reason. Whether your career is taking the route of the hare or the tortoise, you will reach your goal.  Find time for daily reflection and try journaling to reveal your goals and your answered prayers.
